The good news is that learning to type can be fun. There are lots of programs and tutorials available, and many of them are available for free, on the internet. It is very important that you start out by learning and practicing the correct placement and use of fingers on the keys, using the home position (as detailed above, in ‘What is ‘Touch Typing’?’). Don't get too attached to bad habits! Start out using the right fingers to avoid problems. Once you conquer the first step, move on to slow and methodical practice of all the keys. Next, find a site that makes learning fun and provides an entertaining way to practice.
